A former Mustang is officially a Major Leaguer! Mounds View High School Class of 2020 graduate Brett Bateman made his MLB debut with the Toronto Blue Jays last week.

Bateman was a standout center fielder for the Mustangs before playing for the University of Minnesota. He was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the eighth round of the 2023 MLB Draft and was traded to the Blue Jays this month. In his Major League debut, Bateman recorded his first career hit with a double against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Congratulations to Noah Lamusga from our Shoreview location, who competed in the Special Olympics USA Games at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and brought home three medals! Noah won a silver medal in the 400-meter run, a bronze medal in the 100-meter run and placed eighth in the 200-meter run. Congratulations on your incredible accomplishments, Noah! We are so proud of you!
