It’s National Day! 🌱

Agricultural Education is one of the many ways Career & Technical Education brings learning to life. At Arcola, students have opportunities to explore everything from animal and plant science to agricultural mechanics, business, leadership, career development, and work-based learning.

But Ag Ed is about more than learning a subject, it’s about helping students discover what they’re good at, what they care about, and where those skills could take them after high school.

Today we celebrate Miss Baley Milton and agricultural educators across the country who are preparing students for college, careers, and life, one hands-on experience at a time. 💜

Understanding yourself tends to lead to working better with others!

Our Work-Based Learning students welcomed guest speaker Lindsey to learn about the Enneagram and how different personality types can impact the way we communicate, collaborate, handle challenges, and connect with others.

Students explored their own Enneagram types and discussed how understanding themselves, and the people around them, can help build stronger relationships both in the classroom and in the workplace. 💼🌱

A huge thank you to Lindsay for spending time with our WBL students and giving them another tool to take into their future careers!

ISO: Job Openings for High School Students in the Arcola Area

I have several students, ages most 17-18, who are looking for part-time jobs or work-based learning experiences. If you or someone you know needs an extra hand and would be willing to hire a high school student, please contact me!

I am specifically looking for opportunities in or near Arcola in the following areas:

• Real estate internship
• Banking or finance
• Human resources or hospitality
• Horticulture
• Welding

These students are eager to learn, gain real-world experience, and build their professional skills. Many also have experience or strong interests in the trades, plant science, and animal science.

Some have been searching for work, while others have recently shifted from summer work to WBL. I would love to help connect them with local employers who can offer meaningful work experience. Please message me if you know of any opportunities—and feel free to share this post!
