🎒 School is starting, and even little ones who aren’t heading to school may notice that things feel different. Earlier mornings, new childcare schedules, busier evenings, or an older sibling being away can be a big adjustment.
Knowing what to expect helps young children feel safe. When familiar routines suddenly shift, we may see more clinginess, big feelings, sleep changes, or challenging behavior. This is often their way of saying, “Things feel different, and I’m not sure what happens next.”
You can help by keeping meals and bedtime as predictable as possible, talking about changes in simple language, offering small choices, and making a little extra time for connection and rest.
Transitions take time. A little patience and consistency can go a long way. 💛
