2024 AHS Hall of Fame Team Induction, '84-'85 Wrestling!

1984-85 Wrestling Team

Placed first at the Del Norte, McKinleyville, Fortuna, Brookings and Arcata-Rotary Tournaments. Placed 2nd at the Woodland Tournament.

Won all 6 League matches by a combined score of 389-43.

Won the HDNL Championship finishing 86.5 points ahead of 2nd place Del Norte.

Won the North Coast Section Championship by 33.5 points over 2nd place San Ramon

Sent 5 individuals to the CIF State Championship - Kevin Day, Richard England, Ron Perry, Mike Puzz and Paul Wienecke. Finished in the top 12 at State.

2023 Hall of Fame Inductee, Paul Wieneke. Four years of football, Senior year 1st team All-HDN running back, led league in scoring. 2 year Wrestling letterman, Senior year 1st at county meet. Post high school wrestling representing the USA on the Redwood Empire Wrestling team and 4 years as a starting member of the HSU Lumberjack Football team. Congrats, Paul!
