The practice of fencing is an physical art form as impacting and intimate as any other: training clarity and potency of thought and its expression through the body. HSU has been proud to offer this dynamic martial art to students of varying disciplines since 1955. Fencing at HSU has decreased stress, strengthened bodies, sharpened minds and built lasting friendships for over 55 years. Apart from t

raining, the Fencing Club organizes travel to competitions & seminars, purchases new equipment, buys club sweatshirts and apparel, holds parties, movie nights & other socials, and hosts a national annual tournament. Fencing at HSU consists of two classes: PE 125 Beginning Fencing (1 unit) and PE 325 Intercollegiate Club Fencing (2 units). Students must register for these classes to participate. We welcome and encourage all students to join regardless of experience!
