"overall, it’s a clever mashup of old-school melodrama with sometimes surprisingly light and/or insightful and moving musical theater moments that can suddenly be interrupted by the possibility of lurking, omnipresent violence.
This keeps dissolving the lines between what is accepted and considered as “human” behavior, rather than “animal.” An ongoing, lurking question about “who” or “what” the essence of the Bat Boy really is. And, by the end of the show, that will be up to you to decide for yourself. If you can."
