It will be interesting to see what our school morphs into next! RCS has done a beautiful job maintaining the building, no doubt it will be interesting to see what happens next.

The winning bid in the recent auction of the former elementary school building was made by Mint Management of Richmond.

Wishing Mrs. Susan Wallin Hively all the best in her new ventures! Kudos to her for getting to spend more time with family, after all, that's what it's all about! Thank you for your investment into Richmond Community Schools, Susie, you will be remembered!

Well, it is finally on the market. It will be interesting to see what kind of buyer is interested. I hope that like Garrison, they will invite the community back for one last look prior to transforming it into the new use.

District’s board has approved putting the former elementary school up for auction.

Good old Highland Heights! I know that our family is not the only one with many good memories of our time at this great school.

There is beginning to be lots of talk about school starting- every time we drive past Highland Heights, I get a lump in my throat!! We are looking forward to Crestdale, but I must say, we had the BEST at Highland- warm, friendly teachers and staff who were happy to work together and collaborate. Hoping for a great start to the new school year- it is coming up way too quickly!!

Getting to see the entire school dancing with Mr. Marker with Just Dance 3 is a memory that I will not soon forget...that was pretty incredible and awesome!!

What an emotional day for our Highland kids and teachers! My daughter was in Mrs. Higgs' class this year, and apparently they went around the school today singing, "Goodbye Highland, Goodbye Highland- Goodbye Highland....we'll miss you next year!" This was also what they were singing as they all lined the sidewalk to clap the 6th graders out of the building with following their graduation- it was very sweet and gave a nice sense of closure to both kids and teachers, I would imagine. What an amazing group of teachers and staff Highland Heights has been blessed enough to have. Our children have really benefited from their leadership and input. God bless them all.

Thursday is Awards day at Highland Heights! K-3rd grade will be at 9 a.m., and 4th-6th grades will be at 1 p.m. with 6th grade graduation immediately following!

Today is the last Field Day at Highland Heights- from 8-10 and then from 12-2, should any Highland parents want to come out and help or watch!
