5th Grade Egg Drop!

5th graders have been busy the past couple of weeks designing and testing sleds 🛷 and parachutes. 🪂 They tested their sleds for speed and safety in science class, and created an advertising brochure for their sleds in social studies. They were also challenged to design a parachute to help Santa land safely after his sleigh broke down. The goal was to have Santa descend slowly and land on the target

The Ohio State Extension Office came to make bread with our 5th graders. Students learned a little history about the types of bread from different cultures and they saw a science demonstration about how yeast makes the bread rise. They were also able to take home their own fresh baked loaf of bread! 🍞

The 5th grade classes have adopted a calf at Four Pines Farm LTD in Sugarcreek, Ohio. They are having a voting event this week to vote for your favorite calf. The winning calf gets a special care package that includes a calf blanket, apples, a grooming brush, and a personalized ear tag! Please vote for our calf, Peony! You can vote for Peony at discoverdairy.com/vote. Voting takes place through Nov. 6th. The winning calf will be announced on Nov. 8th.
