Today was our district CDE in Grand Island and we have a team going to state!!
Tanner Tanner Chilewski, McKway Scott, Tim Berry competed in the welding competition.
Tanner did O/A and got 3rd place.
McKway did mig and got 3rd place.
Tim did arc and got 1st place.
The team got 2nd overall and will be competing at state this spring.

Arcadia FFA is going to be on television!!!!!

During the National FFA convention Ashley Einspahr got interviewed by RFDtv. It will be airing this weekend!! It will be on This Week In Agriculture. (TWIA) Listen in if you have the time!

TWIA airs on RFDtv four times throughout each weekend. Air times are (all times central) 7:00a.m. on Saturdays,5:00a.m. and 5:00p.m. on Sundays and 8:00a.m. on Mondays. Our students this time of year are working on unique projects of their choice! Take a look at what Gavin Sell made!! He made it out of transmission parts. He did all the electrical work with the help of Tryon Calleroz. It involved welding and electrical skills.

Did you hear the good news??? The Arcadia FFA Chapter did awesome at the district Leadership Skills Events (LSEs) contest yesterday in Sargent!! Here are the results:

Extemporaneous: Lacy Rhoads 11th place
Employment Skills: Ashley Einspahr 5th
Coop Speaking: Calli Bauer 3rd (Alt. State)
Creed Speaking: Shaylee Chilewski 12th
Discovery Speaking: Katie Heyen 6th
Ag Demo (teams 1): Tanner Chilewski, Clay Bauer, and McKway Scott 7th
Ag Demo (team 2): Calli Bauer, Shaylee Chilewski, Lacy Rhoads, and Jentri Hurlburt 9th

Along with those we sent the Jr high off to compete in the quiz bowl competition...the team that advanced the most and got 5th out of 43 teams were Gavin Sell, Seth Woodward, Brandon Cheeks, and Tyron Calleroz

ALSO WE HAVE A STATE QUALIFIER!!!
Jessi Heyen participated in Ag Literacy and got 2nd place qualifying for state in the spring.

Thursday is good!!

Today Arcadia FFA members (plus advisor and sponsor) went to the expo convention center and looked around some more, finding New Mexico State University's Mascot and finding some other really cool technologies including hologram glasses!!

Plus going to a workshop that is RuST Keepers...that stands for (Ru) Rural (S) Small (T) Town and Keepers. That is people who keep wanting the small towns to thrive and keep their legends alive!

Also watched round 2 of the Talent competition, and are currently waiting for session 2 to begin!!
