The SOUPer Bowl is off to a great start and Mr. Peters' class is currently in the lead! Bring in your donations and see if your class will win! We are making a difference in our community by collecting to end hunger. Bring your donations to your homeroom class each day. The class with the most by Friday will win an ice cream party!

Please also note this change in the week's FFA events:
- FFA Horse Hippology will practice at ACHS on Wednesday instead of APS.

- FFA Skillathon will practice Monday and Thursday at ACHS until 5:00.
- FFA Forestry Judging will practice Tuesday at ACHS until 5:00. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
- FFA Crops will practice on Wednesday at ACHS until 5:00.
- FFA Horse Hippology will practice on Wednesday at APS until 5:00.
- FFA Forestry Field Day will practice Thursday at ACHS until 5:00. Wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
- FFA members who would like to attend the tailgate at ACHS on Friday should sign up in the FFA Google Classroom and choose a snack to bring and share.

Students who wish to attend FFA practices and events at ACHS can bring a note to ride the activity bus, but should have their ride ready to pick them up at ACHS at the conclusion of practice.

SAVE THE DATE

On September 17, as part of Appomattox Middle School's Gear Up efforts, Mr. Zach Gowen will give a presentation to interested parents and family members in the Appomattox community. Dinner and on-site childcare will be provided for those who register and attending.

Zach Gowen has climbed the highest peaks—both literal and figurative—and has overcome some of life’s toughest obstacles. After losing his left leg to cancer at the age of 8, Zach defied the odds and became the world’s first amputee WWE Superstar, captivating audiences with his determination, athleticism, and heart.

Zach’s message helps audiences see that it is how you climb to rise above your own mountains that matters most. Whether he’s inspiring young people to dream bigger or guiding educators to reconnect with their purpose, Zach proves that resilience, service, and mindset can turn any challenge into a triumph.

As part of our Gear Up efforts, AMS is starting an E-Sports program this year! The first six-week Raider Reach rotation will be for the 8th-grade only.

VHSL e-Sports and the AMS Athletic Handbook rules will apply.

There will be an upcoming trip to Greece and Italy in the Summer of 2028, and students are invited. Please note that this is a private EF Tours educational tour and not an Appomattox County Public Schools-sponsored trip.

AES teacher Mrs. Gallier is holding a one-time informational meeting to share everything you need to know - and spots on this trip are limited. This life-changing experience will help students build confidence, independence, and global perspective.
