Fox River Academy WHERE LEARNING EXTENDS BEYOND CLASSROOM WALLS

Fox River Academy is a public environmental charter school within the Appleton Area School District in Appleton, WI. With a focus on the Fox River watershed, core subject areas are taught through an integrated, engaging curriculum in multi-age classrooms. Emphasis is placed on empowering students to make critical connections between hands-on observations and learned knowledge using analytical thinking skills. Weekly field experiences bring the classrooms outdoors and inspire students to be passionate stewards and involved citizens.

Come out, enjoy some great food, and support Fox River Academy!

On the Fritz Concessions and Who’s the Man BBQ will BOTH be donating a portion of their sales to Fox River Academy.

🌿🦊 Did you say… Nature Journal?! 🌱🔎

Fox students of all ages are heading outside and practicing the art of observation! 👀🌎

Our 1st and 2nd graders took their nature journals outdoors and worked on capturing what they noticed using pictures, words, AND numbers. ✏️🔢🖍️

Because sometimes the best classroom is the one just outside our door! 💚🍃

🦊☀️ And just like that… Camp Fox is a wrap! 🦊

Our final day of Camp Fox was full of teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of fun! Students worked together through four different stations, putting their collaboration and determination to the test. 💪🌿

What a wonderful (and WARM! 🥵☀️) first week back! We are so proud of the way our students jumped right in, built community, and embraced the Camp Fox spirit.

A HUGE thank-you to all of the families who volunteered today! ❤️ Your time and support are so appreciated.

Now it’s time to rest, recharge, and enjoy that long weekend! 🎉

🦊 Day 2 of Camp Fox is in the books! 🦊

Our Houses came together yesterday to tackle a big “Conundrum”:

💰 If a government had to spend the majority of its funding on ONE focus, which should they choose?

🚀 Option 1: Exploration
Invest in learning more about space and the deep sea.

📚 Option 2: Education
Invest in creating better schools and educational opportunities.

🌎 Option 3: Environment
Invest in protecting our natural resources and the world around us.

Our Houses worked together, discussed their ideas, considered different perspectives, and then created presentations to share their thinking with the group.

Boat Launch Clean Up
(Picking up trash and checking for invasive species)
