"The first duty of an educator, whether they are involved with the newborn infant or the older child, is to recognize the human personality of the young being and respect it." - Maria Montessori
At the heart of Montessori education is a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves respect.
Respecting the child means recognizing each child's unique personality, abilities, interests, and pace of development. It means listening with intention, offering meaningful choices, and creating an environment where independence, curiosity, and confidence can flourish. Rather than expecting every child to learn the same way or on the same timeline, we respect who they are and support them as they grow into capable, compassionate individuals.
When children feel respected, they learn to respect themselves, others, and the world around them. That foundation shapes not only how they learn today, but who they become tomorrow. ❤️

✨July Lunch Feature✨
Today our students enjoyed Chicken tacos with mango salsa, fajita veggies, and queso fresco, with chips and salsa on the side!
All lunches at FVMA are homemade with as many organic ingredients as possible, and include a protein, fruit, veggie, and carb. Our menu covers a variety of cuisines so our kids can be exposed to different flavors they may not experience elsewhere. Today was no exception- and the tacos were a hit! 🌮

“The attention of little children is continually being drawn to one thing or other on their walks. They stop to observe and admire things they see. They are like explorers.” — Maria Montessori
At the heart of Montessori is a deep respect for the child's natural sense of wonder. Moments like these remind us that meaningful learning often begins with a pause, a butterfly, a question, a quiet observation. By giving children the freedom to explore at their own pace, we nurture curiosity, concentration, and a lasting connection with the natural world.
It is in these simple moments of discovery that we see the joy of learning unfold. 🦋🌿

☀️ Take a look at a fantastic kick off to our Summer Camp! 📸💛
Each week brought a new adventure for our students!
🎭 Dress-Up Week was a lot of fun, seeing crazy hair, favorite characters and of course, PJ day!
🎶 Making Music Week had us singing, dancing, and exploring rhythm together. Ms. Leslie's husband, Tim, paid us a visit to teach the kids about a variety of instruments! We also had some parents and family do presentations to show off their own musical talents.
📚 Bookworm Week encouraged a love of reading through stories and hands-on activities.
🦸 Superhero Week reminded us that kindness, bravery, and teamwork are true superpowers but wearing a mask is pretty cool too!
If you're looking for a fun, engaging school experience for your little one, there's still plenty of excitement ahead! We'd love to welcome your family and help them grow!

We learned about those in the community that help people in February and explored the world of Zoology in March!
We are looking forward to warmer weather very soon which means learning about our waters, oceans and the flowers they help bloom! 🌹
