KA Families – Spring Testing is coming up! Do you have a student or family member who attends Kaleidoscope Academy? Let them know how proud you are of them and give them some encouragement to crush this upcoming testing season. You can write a note to a student, virtually, by completing the Google Form below (these will be printed off for students). If you prefer handwritten notes, they can be dropped off at the office (make sure they are addressed to the student). We will be accepting notes until Monday, April 13th!

Record-breaking snow met its match! ❄️💪
As we look ahead to spring-like temperatures this weekend, we want to send a massive thank you to our AASD Facilities and Operations team for their heroic efforts during the largest snowstorm in Appleton’s history.
27.5 inches of snow (plus sleet and wind!) is no small task, but our crew of 60+ dedicated staff members rose to the challenge.
From clearing 60+ lots, 32 buildings, and miles of sidewalks to digging out roof drains and vents for safety, they didn't stop until the job was done.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping to keep our students, staff, and community safe and our schools accessible! 🚜❄️

Did you know a wagging tail can help students reset? One of our therapy dogs visited the KA Nest today to help us welcome spring 🌸🐶. And she looked so pretty! Students enjoyed calmer moments, big smiles, and gentle support as they practiced self-regulation skills. We are eternally grateful for the dogs and handlers who serve the KA students.

Did someone say snow? ❄️ Today, KA physical education classes turned the blizzard leftovers into an outdoor adventure—climbing to new heights at nearby Erb Park and trying out snowshoeing. Students challenged themselves, enjoyed fresh air, and made great memories.

Due to a Blizzard Warning issued by the National Weather Service and the forecast for continued significant snowfall, all Appleton Area School District schools and Appleton Community 4K classrooms will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026.
Elementary, middle, and high school after-school activities are also canceled for Monday. In limited cases, some activities may still take place if necessary. Students and families involved will be notified by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority, and we encourage everyone to stay safe and take care during the storm. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Reminder: All AASD buildings are closed today, Sunday, March 15, and several events have been adjusted:

Snowy forecast? No problem! ❄️➡️🌼 Ms. Koehnke’s class is already preparing for spring: they studied different kinds of birds, learned which feeders each prefers, and built their own homemade bird feeders. The kids had a blast designing and crafting — and they can’t wait to welcome feathered friends. 🐦🛠️

Ever wondered what happens when students become the teachers? 🤔 This week’s Cardinal Cash drawing gave two students the chance to be "Teacher for the Block" — and they ran the entire humanities block like pros! They planned, led discussions, and energized the classroom. We’re so proud of their leadership and creativity. 🎉
