Congratulations to the faculty advisor here at Gamma Zeta, Brother Dr. Matthew Arau. He will be traveling to Cyprus next week as the keynote speaker, guest conductor, guest performer (saxophone soloist), guest presenter, and guest teacher at the first International Conference on Wind Bands. This is the first such conference in Greece and Cyprus, and very possibly the Middle East. This is a really ground breaking event for music education in that part of the world, and we're really proud that he's doing such great things.
For those interested, his keynote address is titled "Leading from the Podium" and he will be lecturing on the history of the wind band. He is guest conducting, performing a saxophone concerto, and leading a live rehearsal with the European University Cyprus Band. He will also be a speaker in a round table discussion about what is necessary for the education of a successful band director.
