My nephew + piano student, Braxton, was my first student to come to my new studio space! This past year has been the most incredible for me. But amongst the blessings, I’ve had to make decisions while navigating being a new mom. My son will always come first ☺️
With that being said, I will not be taking any new students for the time being and I truly dont know when that will change. I love being a working mom, but my evenings are mine with my family and I don’t want to spread myself too thin right now. I love the students I currently have and want to keep watching them grow! 🎹🎶
Thank you all for your understanding and support. This is the happiest I’ve ever been in my life…💫🦋

my setup for teaching piano lessons yesterday! 🎵✨ Bouncing on my ball is truly the only way I am comfortable these days! 39 weeks pregnant and waiting for our boy to come!
Thank you all for the support and flexibility during my pregnancy! Maternity leave is approaching but I will be very excited to get back to lessons in the summer! ☀️

Happy New Year from Brooke Bonnell Studios! ✨
Thank you ALL for the support and growth in 2024! It has been wonderful to watch my students grow in all new ways! I am so blessed to be their teacher.
2025 will bring me the biggest blessing, my son, and will give me the experience of navigating teaching private lessons while also being a new mom, but we are going to keep moving forward! Your patience this year will be more than appreciated. I will take a maternity leave when baby arrives (TBD) but i’m really hoping to resume lessons as soon as I feel comfortable! Teaching is my creative outlet and I know I will be excited to get back to lessons. 🎶
Lessons will resume tomorrow after our winter break week!
xoxo,
Mrs. Bonnell

Last week was our first week back after taking a month off so that I could move! I am SO proud of how the students disciplined themselves over the month of November and came back strong and ready to learn! This made my teacher heart happy. I’m so grateful for my students ✨🤍

a bittersweet announcement from Brooke Bonnell Studios:
As many of you know, my husband and I are expecting our first baby in March! We found out at the beginning of November that we are having a baby BOY 💙🪽 We could not be more excited to begin this journey as parents.
Recently, my husband was given a job opportunity that we can’t pass up, as it will have us moving closer to both of our families. Having our village around us as we raise our son is something we both crave. Brooke Bonnell Studios has officially left Dubuque, Iowa. Leaving my students behind was by far the hardest part.
I want to sincerely thank the families I had the pleasure of teaching. You all have been so welcoming to us. To the families who gave us gifts for baby- I can’t thank you enough for blessing our family with these items and love. I will miss Dubuque greatly. 💌 we are grateful for the 2 years we’ve had in this city.
Due to us getting settled in a new area and baby boy coming- Brooke Bonnell Studios will not be accepting new students until further notice.
see you soon 🎶🎹💗

Spotlight Student of the week! 🔦✨
I want to give a HUGE shoutout to my student, Evie! She starred in her high school’s production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels! It was very entertaining and we loved getting to see Miss Evie shine up there! Your hard work and dedication is wonderful to witness! ❤️

Spotlight Student of the Week! ✨🔦
Last week’s spotlight goes out to Braxton! I am so proud of the progress he’s made in the last few weeks! Braxton has been really using his musical ear to correct mistakes in the moment. We have been working on our D-Major 5 finger scale and if he ever misses his F #, he hears it and corrects it right away! My goal is to always create well-rounded musicians vs. teaching my students to push keys. Way to go, Braxton!!!
