Every Sunday night this summer, our Xavier football players have gathered for something bigger than the game.

They begin by celebrating Mass together at St. Joseph Parish in Appleton. Then, they head to Jones Park, where they carry a cross up the stairs, step after step, shoulder to shoulder.

It's more than building stronger athletes. It's about building a life rooted in faith.

Through prayer, sacrifice, and shared faith, these young football players are forming a bond that goes far beyond the field. They're learning to lean on one another, carry each other's burdens, and keep Christ at the center of everything they do.

As they prepare for the season ahead, they're also preparing to lead with faith, humility, and courage on the field and in everyday life.

Kindness in action. ❤️

When Xavier Elementary fourth grader Katelyn Much learned that children in our community had been displaced by the recent tornado, she felt called to help. Through her Kid Kind Bag Project, Katelyn is filling bags with snacks, books, games, crafts, toys, and other surprises to bring comfort and joy to children during a difficult time.

Katelyn’s compassion is a beautiful example of what it means to be a missionary disciple—recognizing someone in need, responding with love, and sharing the light of Jesus through our actions.

We are incredibly proud of Katelyn for showing our community that no act of kindness is too small to make a difference.

“If we work together and be kind…we could change the world.” —Katelyn Much

Today, our hearts and prayers are with everyone affected by the severe weather and tornado that moved through Appleton and Menasha earlier this afternoon. We know that many families may be facing uncertainty, damage to their homes, disruptions, or concern for loved ones. During times like these, we are reminded that our greatest strength is found in our faith and in the love we share as a community.

Please know that you and your family are in our prayers. If your family has been impacted by the storm in any way, we encourage you to reach out to the school. Whether you need assistance, resources, or prayers, we want to help however we can.

Likewise, if you are aware of a member of our school community who may be in need, please let us know so we can offer support while respecting each family's privacy.

In the days ahead, we will continue to pray for all those affected and look for opportunities to serve one another.

We are excited to see the Vision to Go Forth project moving along! 🚧 Mrs. Meyers has been busy keeping a close eye on the construction crew, making sure they stay on track... and she may or may not have handed out a detention or two along the way. 😄 We’re not saying she’s the new site supervisor, but she definitely takes her job seriously! 👷‍♀️

All jokes aside, the project is moving along and looking great! A big thank you to our construction crew for all of their hard work, especially through these hot summer days. We are grateful for their dedication and excited to see the continued progress!

The Steubenville-Joliet Partnership for Youth holds a special place in the hearts of 47 of our students and 7 of our chaperones this weekend. It was a weekend filled with joy, laughter, meaningful friendships, and unforgettable encounters with the love of Jesus Christ.

We are deeply grateful to the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay for making this experience possible through their generous support. We also extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Welch for saying "yes," the Live Jesus Group for helping bring this opportunity to life, and especially to Mrs. Dunphy for her vision, dedication, and passion for providing our students with this incredible weekend of faith.

"My hope is to help our teens move from simply knowing about Jesus in their heads to truly knowing Him in their hearts—to encounter His love and be transformed by it, just as we experienced this weekend. I was hoping for 15 students to join us, so filling a bus with nearly 50 was truly incredible! I look forward to creating even more opportunities to ignite our Xavier High School students' Catholic faith and continue pointing them toward Jesus." — Mrs. Dunphy

Please continue to pray that the seeds planted this weekend continue to grow, and that our students carry the joy, hope, and love of Christ into our Xavier community and beyond.
