Huge Shout Out to our Appleton City Fire Department for taking time to talk with our students about fire Safety.
This years topic was "Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower." They talked to the kids about:
*The importance to not sleep with their electronic devices in their beds, as they could over heat and catch on fire.
*When to change the batteries in the smoke detectors, twice a year at daylight savings time. Sunday, November 1 2026 is the next one.
*Knowing their address, the FULL ADDRESS. HOUSE NUMBER, ROAD, CITY, and STATE!
*Last but definitely not least, how to safely get out of the house if your house was on fire and where your meeting spot is. Is it the tree in the front yard, the shed out back, the mailbox, the neighbors house? This is something families should discuss and practice with your kiddos!
If you see any of our Appleton City Fire Department or Community First Responders out and about, please stop to tell them thank you for all that they do. Not only do they take the time to educate our kids, but these folks will literally stop whatever they are doing to come help you when you need it most.
