We Defy is a nonprofit that provides BJJ scholarships to combat veterans coping with military connected disabilities. At Rio Jitsu, we truly believe that BJJ can change and save lives, and we proudly host these events to support, fundraise and increase the reach of We Defy not only in Minnesota, but across the country.

AJ got second place today in his division at PanAms! After a few years trying, he achieved the goal to be on the podium! More than that, fought a final! We are proud of you for not giving up, for your hard work and dedication! Way to go, AJ! Congratulations!

Our 1st Belt and Stripe Promotion of 2025 will happen on March 10th, at 5pm.
This promotion ceremony is for Kids 1, Kids 2 and Teens only. No Adults and Little Kids at this time!

Rio Jitsu will start a daytime kids class, designed for homeschoolers!
It’s a great opportunity to engage in a fun activity and to meet new friends. Classes will start on February 3rd and will happen every Monday and Wednesday at 9:30am. Kids age 6 to 12 years old.
Want an extra perk? You can train at the same time as your child/children on our Adults All Levels class. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30am.
