Yesterday, we had the privilege of honoring so many incredible students at FIT Academy with more than 250 awards. Every one of those awards represents something important: showing up day after day, working hard when no one is watching, and pushing through challenges when it would be easier to quit. Success is built in those small moments, and we see them.
As we close out the school year, we want to recognize a very special new award inspired by one of our own students, 10th grader Kaiden Theis.
Two years ago, Kaiden traveled with us to Washington, D.C. As part of the trip, students met with our local representatives and senators and were asked to prepare thoughtful questions. Kaiden did much more than that. He respectfully shared a deeply personal story and challenged current policies and politics based on his own lived experience. His courage, vulnerability, professionalism, and willingness to speak up left Ms. Halama, fellow students, and even the congresswoman speechless.
This year, when Katie Strom demonstrated that same courage during a conversation with Senator Tina Smith in Washington, D.C., students and Ms. Halama knew it was time to create a new awardβone that recognizes students who are willing to share their stories, challenge the status quo, and engage in respectful, meaningful civic dialogue.
We are proud to announce the creation of the Kaiden Award, which will now become part of FIT Academy's legacy moving forward.
Congratulations to Kaiden Theis for inspiring this award and leaving a lasting impact on our school community. And congratulations to Katie Strom, the first recipient of the Kaiden Award, for her thoughtful and courageous conversation this year.
A special thank you to Lyn Kimple, who hand-designed this beautiful award.
One student's courage can inspire generations of students to come.

Yesterday, we celebrated our Kindergarten Graduation, and what a special day it was! πβ¨
Our kindergarten students did an amazing job performing songs and sharing their talents with family and friends. We are so proud of all they have accomplished this year and can't wait to see what their future holds.
A huge thank you to Ms. Chisholm for her dedication, hard work, and love for her students throughout the year. We also want to extend our gratitude to the students and staff who helped decorate and prepare for the celebration. Your time, creativity, and willingness to jump in helped make the day so memorable for our students and families.
Congratulations, kindergarten graduates! We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing all you accomplish in first grade! π

Our 8th graders in Ms. Klineβs art class got creative with paper mΓ’chΓ© projects! π¨β¨
Students designed and built amazing pieces including a turtle and a shark. Each project showed incredible creativity, patience, and attention to detail as students brought their ideas to life. We are so proud of their hard work and artistic expression. Great job, 8th grade, and thank you, Ms. Kline, for inspiring such creativity in the classroom! π
