At FIT Academy, we’re a community, and when one of our Tigers has an opportunity to shine, we show up and support them!

Our very own fifth grader, Alex Kirkland, has been nominated for Youth Athlete of the Year, and he needs our help to make it into the Top 5!

Alex works incredibly hard at hockey, but what we love most is that he represents so much of what we value at FIT. He is dedicated, works hard, encourages his teammates, and understands the importance of being part of a team. 💙

🐯💙 AFTER-SCHOOL CARE STARTS TODAY! 💙🐯

Our FIT Academy After-School Care program begins TODAY, September 14!

The program is led by Ms. Tina Torgerson, and our FIT students love spending time with her! We’re excited to have her leading After-School Care this year. 😊

📌 IMPORTANT: Families must complete and turn in a signed copy of the After-School Care Policies document to the school office at the beginning of the school year.

📅 WEEKLY REGISTRATION: Families will need to register for After-School Care each week throughout the school year.

🐯💙 ARRIVAL & CARPOOL REMINDER 💙🐯

Thank you for helping us kick off such a great first week of school!

Beginning Monday, September 14, parents will no longer be able to walk students into the building during morning drop-off. This includes all grade levels. We appreciate your help as we establish consistent morning routines and keep arrival safe and efficient for everyone.

🚗 CARPOOL REMINDERS

Drop-Off: 7:30–7:40 AM
Pick-Up: 2:40–3:00 PM

A few important reminders:

🐯 Please arrive during the designated drop-off and pick-up windows. Arriving early can create long lines that block traffic on 147th Street and interfere with the Bogarts parking lot.

🚗 Please have your carpool sign displayed in your vehicle window.

🐢 Drive slowly and carefully through the carpool area.

🚫 Please do not block any Bogarts entrances while waiting in the carpool line.

📍 Please refer to the carpool map for the correct route and entrance and exit locations.

🚌🚗 TRANSPORTATION & CARPOOL INFORMATION 🐯

As we get ready to kick off the 2026–27 school year, here are some important reminders about bus transportation and carpool procedures!

🚌 BUS INFORMATION

District 196:
Families living within District 196 who requested bussing will receive a bus information card from District 196. Please be aware that these cards may arrive as late as the day before school starts.

Burnsville (outside District 196 boundaries):
Families living in Burnsville but outside District 196 who signed up for bussing will receive bus route information by mail from our bus provider, Schmitty & Sons.

🙋 BUS STOP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are looking for bus stop volunteers during the first week of school. If your child rides the bus and you’re willing to help, please email Mr. Allaire at [email protected].

📅 FIRST TWO WEEKS

The first week of school can be especially challenging as we work through transportation logistics and make sure everyone gets home safely.

For this reason, we strongly encourage families to keep the same transportation plan for the first two weeks of school, especially for our younger students.

🚗 CARPOOL INFORMATION

Families who plan to carpool will receive a carpool sign to display in their vehicle window at our Back to School event.

Please help us keep carpool running smoothly:

🏀⚽ SPORTS EQUIPMENT DONATIONS 🏐🥎

Cleaning out the garage or basement and have some sports equipment your family no longer uses? 👀

The FIT Academy PE Department would be grateful for any gently used sports balls or equipment that you’d be willing to donate! We’d love to add them to our recess supplies and give them a new life with our Tigers this school year. 🐯💙

Donations are completely optional, but if you have equipment you’re ready to pass along, we’d be happy to put it to good use!
