Rosan Eckert is one of the directors of vocal jazz studies at the University of North Texas. I interviewed her for Behind The Mic several years ago. I’d like you to listen to her album, “Sailing Home.” If vocal performance was her only skill set, I’d give her the highest rating possible. Beyond her vocals, she wrote all the songs and lyrics while sharing some of the compositions with Peter Eldridge, vocalist with New York Voices, and her husband, drummer Gary Eckert.
