CALL TO ACTION π£
Happy 4th Everyone π Our students are enjoying what they're learning and creating in our cooking classes π π But there are others with special needs who want to join too, but can't because of cost. Some are not part of a med waiver program due to long waiting lists. Some are not part of or even aware of non-profits or groups they can become members of and receive a significantly reduced rate. They shouldn't be denied the opportunity to improve themselves, become more independent, and step into their God-given purpose.
There's a young autistic woman I know who's baking skills are amazing (her macarons are soo good, and I don't even like macarons), but wants to advance and enhance her skills. Her dream is to open her own bakery specifically for diabetics, since she has Type 1 Diabetes herself.
I know another young woman who's amazing in the kitchen (she makes a mean ratatouille π) but can't improve her skills to be able to market herself because of cost.
A young man has approached me to learn more cooking skills (his specialty is Charsu Pork π²), but funds are limited. The same is true of a former student who said he wants me to take him under my wing and is showing intermediate skills.
And the list goes on...
I am sponsoring one other young man myself, but that's not practically possible with everyone. So I am appealing to you and those you may know to prayerfully consider sponsoring these budding chefs. Your donation would not only go towards their class costs, but would also help with supplies like safety knives and gloves, aprons, and other cooking supplies.
What an a propos opportunity this would be for these eager future students, especially on the birthday of our nation - the land of opportunity, which includes our loved ones with special needs.
Thank you for reading, considering, and helping. God's many blessings to you all π
