𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

While our 9th–11th graders tackled MAP testing, our seniors explored what’s next at our local College Expo.

We were excited to welcome representatives from the University of Central Florida, Full Sail University, AdventHealth University, Acron Aviation Academy, Seminole State College of Florida, Rollins College, Valencia College, and Orange Technical College to campus.

These connections help our seniors explore their college goals, discover pathways that match their interests, and take meaningful steps toward their future.

We are so grateful for our 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and so blessed by the way they always show up for our students!
Yesterday was 𝗠𝗔𝗣 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 for our 9th–12th grade students, and our Parent Association was there bright and early with smiling faces, breakfast, and plenty of snacks to keep our students fueled during their breaks.
Thank you for loving, encouraging, and supporting our students in so many meaningful ways. Your presence makes a difference, and we are truly grateful for all you do!

Please join us in celebrating our 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀!

They did an amazing job during Ropes Church, sharing more about the 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 and connecting it to current events.

It was a blessed and fun morning filled with 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀, meaningful conversations, and bonding. We are grateful for the opportunity to see our students grow as leaders and share their faith with others!

For years, Manny Sanchez has been a beloved part of the FLA family, caring for our campus and, most importantly, our students. He could be found all over campus, at all hours, always working and always showing his love for FLA.

Due to medical reasons, Manny is not with us this school year, and we certainly miss him. We’re lifting Manny and his family up in prayer, asking God for healing, restoration, strength, and peace.

Manny, you are always part of the FLA Familia. We hope you’ll stop by and say hello from time to time. You are missed, loved, and appreciated more than you know. Go Dolphins!!!

Last Friday evening, we gathered for our 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, and it was a meaningful way to close out Spiritual Emphasis Week.

Our Revive Praise Team shared 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰, followed by a powerful message from 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼. Students also took time to write personal letters to Jesus and place them in a box at the foot of the cross, lifting up their 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 for the year ahead.

As we begin this school year, we are praying for our students as they live out our theme, “𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.” It is encouraging to see our students embracing this calling and seeking to follow the 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 in their daily lives.

What a beautiful way to begin the year together in faith.

Forest Lake Academy Welcomes D.A. Alves to the Physical Education Department as a part-time PE teacher. Mr. Alves, known to his students and athletes as Coach D.A., is a proud Forest Lake Academy alumnus and Physical Education teacher with a passion for helping students grow physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Central Florida and has experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, and leading students from elementary through high school.

Before returning to FLA, Coach D.A. served as a Physical Education teacher and Intramurals Director at Forest Lake Education Center, coached basketball, soccer, and volleyball, and served as Acting Athletic Director and Florida Christian Soccer League Director. He has also coached basketball and track at Mount Dora Middle School and currently coaches with Orlando Magic Summer Camps.

Coach D.A. is passionate about using sports and physical education to teach teamwork, discipline, perseverance, leadership, and character while encouraging students in their faith and relationship with Christ.

Outside of school, Coach D.A. enjoys sharing the love of Christ, playing and watching sports—especially basketball —attending car shows, cooking, cycling, walking, and reading.

𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 | 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟱

We wrapped up Spiritual Emphasis Week today with a powerful reminder from 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀 about living out 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

The Great Commission tells us to 𝗚𝗼, but Isabella reminded us that God never called us to go it alone. He wants us to be an outcome of the God living within us, allowing His presence to shape how we live and serve. She referenced 𝗘𝗰𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝟴:𝟭𝟰 as we reflected on what it means to faithfully live out our calling.

Throughout the week, we were reminded to 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵, 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹, and 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲.

What a meaningful week of being reminded that we are 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

🎓 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 | 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟱

Seniors will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from local colleges during our 𝗼𝗻-𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 on Tuesday, August 25. This will be a 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹.

Senior parents are welcome to attend. 𝗔 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 for entry.

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: Students in 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟵–𝟭𝟭 will be participating in MAP Testing at this time.
