Meet our Direct Services team! Featured from left to right: Mr. Brownstone, Mrs. Greene, Mrs. Robinson, and Mrs. Young! This team offers academic support to our students who have Individualized Education Program/Plans. They write, facilitate, and implement the IEPs, and by the way, good luck catching them! Whether they are going into classrooms to provide additional supports, or bringing kids into the Sunshine Room, they are always on the move! The services they provide are so important, and we thank them!

Meet the ladies who teach in our Exceptional Education classrooms! From left to right are Mrs. Tereasa, Mrs. Bates, and Mrs. Barrett, then Ms. Wheeler and Mrs. Jedamski (aka Mrs. J)!

These teachers provide individualized instruction and support tailored to each student’s unique needs, while helping them build confidence, independence, and the skills they need to be successful both in and outside the classroom.
Their work requires creativity, flexibility, and a whole lot of heart, and they bring all of that to school every day. We’re so grateful for the care, encouragement, and advocacy they provide for their students and for the important role they play in our Apison family!

Our next stop on the Apison staff tour takes us to Pre-K! Did you know that Apison has not one, but two Pre-K classrooms? Featured from left to right are Ms. Lucasey, Ms. Armstrong, and Ms. Parton then we have Ms. Cara and Mrs. Eubanks!
Our Pre-K staff is instrumental in getting kids ready for Kindergarten, teaching them social and emotional skills, and providing early academic exposure through play! What an important job they have!!!

Today is the final day to bid on the VIP Parking Spot that allows you to skip the carline for a quarter! Bidding ends at 8pm tonight, so don’t miss your chance to avoid sitting in line for afternoon pickup everyday!

Meet our guidance counselors, Mrs. Beth and Mr. Joey! Their job is to ensure that our kids have as much emotional awareness as they do academic intelligence. They provide a good social and emotional foundation through these critical elementary years, and we thank them for all they do!

We’ve had a few really fun events this week at Apison, back to back! First, Mrs. Smith, with our ENL department, brought in the Ensemble de México to show off their dancing skills for the whole school. The kids had a blast watching the troupe in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month! The PTA was proud to help sponsor this event.

Then today we held our monthly Happy Cart with a “Game Day” theme that featured nostalgic ball field style chili cheese nachos, plenty of desserts, and a middle school throwback: a paper football field goal challenge! Mrs. Ivey was our winner, making 3 out of 3 field goals!

Today also happened to be National Custodian Day, so we treated our hardworking janitorial staff to a few extra treats!

Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time, food, and funds to make these events happen! Many hands made light work this week, for sure!

*Special shout out to Tabitha Murray, whose professional-level baking once again impressed all who partook!
