Lately we've been collecting the good stuff. ☀️

Bare feet in the water. Fresh strawberries at the farmers market. Fishing victories. Creative projects. New friendships. Lots of laughs.

These little moments may seem simple, but they're often the memories kids talk about long after camp is over.

A few favorites from the past few weeks at The Organized Mind. ❤️

Confidence starts here.

05/26/2026

What we see at camp daily:
Some kids create something they’re proud of, then immediately downplay it.

“It’s bad.”
“I messed it up.”
“It’s not that good.”
“They’re better than me.”

Many children struggle to receive pride without canceling it.

Try this tonight:
When your child shows you something they made, resist jumping straight to critique or praise.

Instead ask:

“What part are you most proud of?”

Then pause and let them answer.

That question builds internal pride instead of dependence on outside approval.

Confidence grows when kids learn to recognize their own progress.

This time of year can feel heavy for some families.

Social media is full of prom photos, graduation parties, packed friend groups, and “perfect” teenage memories. But for many neurodiverse kids, those milestones may look quieter, slower, or completely different.

And that is okay.

As a mom of an 18 year old who is still in school and moving at her own pace, and a 21 year old in her junior year of college, I’ve learned that there is no one right timeline for growing up. Their paths look completely different, but both are valid, meaningful, and worthy of celebration.

Today we celebrated the last day of school with our traditional ice cream trip. 🍦

Some kids thrive socially.
Some need smaller circles.
Some take longer to find confidence, independence, or their people.

Success is not defined by prom photos, popularity, or doing everything on the “expected” schedule.

To the parents carrying quiet worry this season:
Your child is not behind in life just because their story looks different. 💙

Grades matter. So does this.

05/18/2026

What we see at camp daily:
Some kids want to contribute in a group, but don’t know how to enter the conversation.

They have ideas, notice problems, or want to help, yet stay quiet while louder voices take over.

Later they may say, “They never listen to me,” when really they never found a way in.

Try this tonight:
At dinner or in the car, practice one simple phrase:

“I have an idea.”
“Can I add something?”
“What if we tried this?”

Short scripts help kids access their voice when the moment comes.

Many children don’t lack ideas. They lack rehearsal.

Confidence grows when kids know how to speak up clearly and respectfully.

Soaking up the sunshine and beautiful cool weather this week ☀️

This week at The Organized Mind looked like soccer games, science experiments, watermelon challenges, animal learning, playground adventures, teamwork, problem solving, and a whole lot of fresh air. One of the best parts of camp is watching kids build friendships and confidence while they’re just genuinely having fun.

We’re really grateful for weeks like this 💙💛💚
