Most athletes think training harder is the answer.

But at the higher levels, training smarter matters just as much.

That’s why we utilize readiness testing within the Framework Development System.

Using CMJ + RSI testing, we can monitor how an athlete’s body is responding day to day and make adjustments when needed. If an athlete is significantly under their normal outputs, that tells us recovery, nervous system fatigue, travel, workload, or stress may be impacting performance.

That DOESN’T mean we shut training down.

It means we adjust the intent of the session.

Sometimes that means:
• More movement quality work
• More acceleration mechanics
• Lower intensity strength work
• Recovery circuits
• Tissue/recovery emphasis

The graphs included in this post show how we track readiness and performance trends over time. The green shaded area represents the athlete’s normal readiness range based on their current level and outputs.

If an athlete falls outside of that range, adjustments may be needed.

What’s important is that the green range itself evolves as the athlete improves. As force production, power output, and readiness capacity improve, the baseline moves with them.

So this isn’t just about fatigue management, it’s also a long term progression tracking system.

Especially with college and professional athletes where workloads, practices, games, travel, and recovery demands are much higher, readiness monitoring helps us continue progressing athletes without unnecessary overload.

Data should support coaching, not replace it.

The best programs combine:
• objective data
• coach observation
• athlete communication
• intentional programming

Train hard.
Recover intentionally.
Develop long term.

Off season work.

05/09/2026

Most athletes take the season off, but Cash didn’t. 12 months of consistent work, in season and out, and every single metric improved. This is why we preach the process. Progress over perfection.
