Emotional regulation plays a vital role in a child’s learning, behavior, and overall well-being. Families can support this skill by creating calm, predictable environments that help children understand and manage their feelings.

🟦 Try these strategies:
• Create a quiet “calm space” with comforting items
• Use visual emotion charts to help identify feelings
• Offer short sensory breaks to reduce overwhelm
• Model calming strategies such as deep breathing
• Acknowledge every attempt your child makes to self-regulate

Small, consistent strategies make a meaningful impact. When children feel supported and understood, they are better able to express themselves and navigate challenges with confidence.
