Friends, tonight we share the passing of our classmate Ed Girard. Ed passed away in 2024. Here is the obituary his family published to remember him:

Edward "Ed" Charles Girard, 60, of Seattle, Washington, passed away on April 3, 2024. Born on May 22, 1963, in Vallejo, CA, Ed courageously battled Lymphoma as a young man and later settled in Washington with his wife Victoria and daughter April in 1993. Initially living in Vancouver, then Federal Way finally building an amazing community in Seattle.

Ed is survived by his wife Ying Liu, daughter April Girard (Jenn Connell), son Daniel Girard-Roach, four grandsons, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson, sisters Genevieve, Sharon, and Jeannine, and his beloved dog, Ag. He was preceded in death by his wife Victoria, son Timothy, parents Agnes and George Girard, and brothers Richard and Perry Girard.

Ed was a kind-hearted individual who never met a stranger. His warm smile and welcoming demeanor endeared him to all who crossed his path. Known for his love of sharing bad jokes and captivating stories, Ed had a passion for art, including painting, furniture making, and stained glass. He was a loyal friend, a talented craftsman, and a lover of animals, nature, family, friends and good beer.

Edward was a graduate of Antioch Senior High and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In his career, Ed found fulfillment in construction, particularly in remodeling and rehabbing buildings, homes, and apartments.

Ed's hobbies included fishing, crabbing, and camping with friends. Ed enjoyed shooting with his lifelong friend Michael, despite rumors of his questionable marksmanship skills. He also fancied himself a bit of a Backyard Pitmaster.

Ed will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. May he rest in peace.

A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the West Seattle Eagles Club.
