💧 Leadership + Water + Equity = Change 💧

Over the last year, New Generation Equity® had the joy of working with WELL (Water Education for Latino Leaders) and California African American Water Education Foundation (CAAWEF) and their first Educate 2 Lead cohort — a dynamic group of BIPOC professionals preparing to lead California’s water agencies.

While most of our work is in public education, this experience reminded us how powerful leadership development is across all sectors. Through workshops, coaching, and trainings, we helped introduce key tools like our Equity-Conscious Leadership Framework and Readiness Continuum, all with the goal of helping participants grow as transformational leaders.

Thank you, WELL and CAAWEF, for inviting us into this meaningful work. The future of water — and leadership — is in good hands. 💧💡

In 2022, after two decades in education — as a teacher, principal, and county office administrator — I took a leap and founded New Generation Equity.

I thought stepping away from traditional roles might mean working outside the system. But in reality, I’ve only become more deeply engaged — shaping it from new vantage points. As a leadership consultant, I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with incredible leaders who are transforming their schools and organizations. As an elected school board trustee, I help make decisions that directly impact the futures of students and families.

Throughout my career, one belief has remained constant: every student deserves a world-class education — one that not only recognizes their brilliance but nurtures their identity, culture, and creative potential.

This work — leadership coaching, professional learning design, systems change, curriculum development — isn’t just what I do. It’s what I live. And it matters enough to protect.

A year ago, I partnered with Rukayatu ("Ruky") Tijani from Firm for the Culture to pursue a registered trademark for New Generation Equity — a bold step to safeguard the intellectual property and vision built over years of study, practice, and relentless commitment.

Today, I’m proud to share that New Generation Equity is officially trademarked.

This milestone isn’t just about a name — it’s about protecting a mission. A mission to partner with educators and leaders who believe that transformational change is possible — and necessary — for the students and communities we serve.
