🦋 Thank You, Dolly, for a Life So Beautifully Lived 🦋
Today, Tennessee—and the world—lost one of its brightest lights. Dolly Parton was certainly a legendary singer, songwriter, entertainer and businesswoman, but the measure of her life reaches far beyond the stage.
She lived a life of giving. A life of kindness. A life that made room for other people to dream.
From the hills of East Tennessee, Dolly showed the world that humble beginnings never have to determine how far you can go—or how many people you can lift along the way.
Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she placed books into the hands of millions of children and helped nurture a love of reading around the world. She supported families devastated by wildfires, invested in medical research, strengthened her Tennessee community, and gave generously—often without asking for recognition in return.
And somehow, through all the fame, rhinestones and accolades, she remained unmistakably Dolly—funny, gracious, authentic, compassionate and proud of where she came from.
Thank you, Dolly, for the music that became the soundtrack to so many lives.
Thank you for reminding little girls from small towns that their dreams could be enormous.
Thank you for believing that children deserve books and opportunities.
Thank you for showing us that success and kindness can—and should—exist together.
And most of all, thank you for living such a giving and kind life.
You didn't simply leave us songs to remember.
You left the world better than you found it.
Rest peacefully, Tennessee's beloved Dolly. Your music will continue to play, your generosity will continue to change lives, and your light will continue to shine through generations you may never have had the opportunity to meet.
We will always love you. 🦋💗
