While summer brings a slower pace to our buildings and classrooms, HCNEA's work does not stop. Behind the scenes, important work is continuing on behalf of our members and our schools.

Negotiations are in full swing as we continue advocating for the needs, concerns, and professionalism of our educators. At the same time, the HCNEA Board will begin meeting regularly with the Superintendent as part of a continued effort to strengthen communication, build collaboration, and improve transparency moving forward.

Progress does not only happen during the school year. Summer gives us an opportunity to continue important conversations, focus on solutions, and work toward a stronger relationship that benefits staff, students, and our entire school community.

Thank you to all of our members for your continued support, involvement, and commitment to our schools. We may be out of the classroom for the summer, but the work continues. Be sure to click follow so you can come along for the ride.

After 15 years of leadership and service to HCNEA, co-presidents Julie Jahay and Jen Clark are passing the torch.

Through their dedication, advocacy, and commitment to educators and students, they have helped guide HCNEA through both challenges and successes while always standing up for what they believed was right.

Their leadership has shaped our association in countless ways, and they have taught many of us the importance of using our voices, supporting one another, and continuing the good fight for public education.

Thank you, Julie and Jen, for everything you have given to HCNEA and to the educators of Chaparral Schools. Your impact will continue long after your time in leadership. 💙💛
