Today we honor the lives lost, the families and loved ones who continue to carry their memories, and the courage of the first responders and countless individuals who came together in the face of tragedy.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

When Superintendent Mr. Loehr says, “Have a great day at school,” he means he’s going to have a great day at school, too!

Mr. Loehr loves visiting our school sites to connect with students, teachers, and families, see learning in action, and hear directly from our school communities about how he can best support them. Today, he took it one step further and became one of the students for the day! From classroom activities to campus life, he was ready to jump right in.

We hope you have a GREAT day! đź‘‹

Today, we recognize and celebrate the people whose hard work helps our students, families, and community.

From educators and school staff to bus drivers, food service workers, custodians, counselors, administrators, parents, volunteers, and community members, our schools are strengthened by the many people who show up and make a difference every day.

Reminder: All CJUSD schools and the District Office are closed today in observance of Labor Day. We’ll see you tomorrow!

Every Day, Every Student Belongs.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we’re celebrating the important connection between showing up and belonging. When students attend school regularly, they have more opportunities to learn, build relationships, participate in their school community, and feel connected.

At CJUSD, we believe every student matters, every day. Their presence makes a difference in our classrooms and community.

Center Spotlight: Raquel Alvarez ✨🚌

Please join us in welcoming Raquel Alvarez, our new Transportation Supervisor! Raquel brings 21 years of experience in the transportation industry to the district. She began her career as a bus driver and spent 10 years driving special education routes, where she built meaningful relationships with students and families. Many of those students became like family, making those years especially memorable.

Throughout her career, Raquel also gained experience in PM dispatching before becoming a state certified instructor. She quickly discovered a passion for training and enjoys sharing her knowledge, supporting others, and helping colleagues grow in their careers.

Outside of work, Raquel enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren, and close friends. One of her favorite things to do is chase a beautiful sunset because there is nothing quite like ending the day with a beautiful view!

We are excited to welcome Raquel to the Center team and look forward to the connections she will build with our students, families, and staff!

Leaders Learn Too!

Learning matters for our students and everyone who supports them. Today, site and district administrators came together for their bi monthly meeting to do some learning of their own. The meeting opened with each leader sharing their 2026 to 2027 goals for their school or department, along with their personal leadership goals. The team also received district updates, discussed the district’s 3-year instructional initiatives, and reviewed the mental health services available to our school community.

Our elementary administrators then stuck around with their site literacy support staff to continue learning about early literacy instruction and how we can keep working to get ALL our students reading at grade level.

Great learning today for our Leaders! 📚

Congratulations to Mr. Ron Baioni, our District Classified Employee of the Year!

As a Network Specialist in our Technology Department, Mr. Baioni is one of the people working behind the scenes to keep our district connected and our technology running smoothly. He is always willing to lend a hand, solve a problem, and make sure our staff have the support they need. Ron’s kindness and genuine willingness to help make him such a special part of our district family. We were proud to recognize him at our recent Board Meeting and celebrate this well-deserved honor.

Thank you for all you do for our schools, staff, and students. We’re so grateful to have you on our team!
