☀️🎉 End of Summer Bash at Julia Day!*🎉☀️

We kicked off our morning with a sweet visit from Sugar Llamas! 🦙🍦The children had so much fun creating their own ice cream flavors. And now the big question… will Sugar Llamas choose one of the children’s creations for their next batch?!👀🍨 We’ll have to wait and see!

Then we continued the fun with our End of Summer Bash, celebrating with our Julia Day families, enjoying the sunshine, delicious pizza, snow cones, and lots of laughter and memories together. 💛

This time of year is always a little bittersweet. We are so excited to watch our kindergarten-bound friends take their next big step, while also welcoming new friends and families into our Julia Day community. It’s hard to say goodbye, but we are so proud of each and every child! 🎓❤️

A HUGE shout-out to our amazing staff and volunteers who worked so hard to make our celebration such a special day for our families. We couldn’t do it without you! 👏💕

And a special thank you to Casa Bianca Pizza Ansonia for the delicious pizza 🍕 and Ansonia Rescue Medical Service for providing the ice for our snow cones! 🍧

What a busy, emotional, and joy-filled week it has been here at Julia Day! ❤️

This week we celebrated our Pre-K Graduation and Preschool Moving-Up Ceremonies, marking important milestones for so many of our little learners. Watching our children grow, gain confidence, and prepare for their next adventures is both exciting and bittersweet.

As we head into summer, some of our families will continue making memories with us, while others begin their summer break and prepare for new journeys ahead. It is truly an honor to be a part of so many families' lives and to help provide a strong foundation for each child. Every day, we are reminded that while we teach our children, they teach us just as much—with their curiosity, kindness, resilience, and joy.

We also had a wonderful time celebrating Father's Day with our special guests. The children loved sharing crafts they worked so hard to create, spending time outdoors, playing together, and making memories with the important father figures in their lives. Seeing those smiles, hugs, and special moments was a beautiful reminder of the strong connections that support our children every day.

Thank you to all of our families for allowing us to be part of your children's early learning journey. We are so proud of every child and grateful for the memories we've created together this year.

One of the most rewarding parts of this work is spending time with future educators and helping them see that teaching goes far beyond delivering curriculum in a classroom.

It’s about building relationships, creating safe spaces, inspiring confidence, showing compassion, and helping students grow both academically and personally. The lessons students remember most often come from the connections we make and the care we show every day.

I’m always encouraged by the passion, energy, and dedication these future teachers bring to the profession. The future of education is in good hands. 🍎📚

Teacher Appreciation Week at Julia Day is off to an amazing start! We truly have the BEST teachers, and we’re so grateful for everything they do each day. 💙

A little salty snack was just what they needed to power through Monday. Cinco de Mayo + Taco Tuesday called for a Chipotle lunch for everyone, and with the beautiful 75° weather, an ice cream treat from The Ice Cream Shoppe was a must!

Tomorrow is Sweet Treat Day, and we can’t wait to see what these amazing girls and our families are whipping up!

This week we had the joy of celebrating the Week of the Young Child—a special time dedicated to recognizing the importance of early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. It’s all about celebrating growth, creativity, connection, and the magic that happens in those early years 💛

We had such a wonderful time embracing each day with meaningful activities, laughter, and learning. To wrap up the week, we enjoyed Family Friday—such a special way to bring everyone together! We took a moment to pause, soak in the beautiful day, go for a walk, and spend time playing and connecting.

A big thank you to the Bookmobile for visiting us this week—we loved exploring all the books and sharing in the excitement of reading together!

We had such a meaningful moment during Week of the Young Child at Julia Day School! 🎶

Nicky Moore, a third grade student, joined our preschool community to share his guitar skills with our students. He played songs, introduced his sheet music, and gave our younger learners a chance to see what practicing and passion can look like.

It was a perfect example of kids teaching kids—building confidence, inspiring curiosity, and creating connections across ages. Thank you, Nicky, for making it such a special and memorable experience for everyone!

Work Together Wednesday was a huge success! We had the pleasure of partnering with the Ansonia Senior Center, and it truly highlighted the importance of cross-generational relationships.

Our morning was filled with so many fun and meaningful activities—planting, reading stories together, making recycled art, playing soccer, creating wind chimes, and even some imaginative pretend play in the kitchen!

Moments like these remind us how valuable it is to bring different generations together. There was so much laughter, learning, and connection shared by everyone involved.

We’re so grateful for this partnership and the opportunity to build lasting relationships within our community. Everyone had an amazing time, and we can’t wait to do it again!
