Is Busyness Slowly Stealing Your Heart? ❤️

Have you ever heard the illustration about the Chinese character for “busy”?

It combines the heart with a character that conveys the idea of losing or perishing.

Whether or not every detail of that illustration is exact, it paints a sobering picture.
“The heart is the place where the busy life exacts its deadliest toll. Busyness kills the heart, withers the soul, and makes us less human.”

That describes so many people today.
We’re constantly rushing…
Checking off another task…
Trying to keep up…

Yet in the process, our relationship with God, our marriages, our families, and even our own souls begin to suffer.

Jesus offers us a different rhythm.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

Real rest isn’t found in getting everything done. It’s found in spending time with Jesus. That’s one reason I’m so passionate about giving God our First and Best each day. When we begin with Him, we learn to live from His peace instead of our pressure.

Maybe today isn’t about doing more.

Maybe it’s about slowing down enough to be with the One who restores your soul.

🙏 Prayer: Lord, slow my heart enough to hear Your voice. Help me exchange striving for Your peace and teach me to give You my First and Best every day. Amen.
