An AHEF grant provided expanded vocational opportunities to build upon Two Rivers Transitional Program students' work-related skills. The existing floral program was expanded greatly with the purchase of a floral refrigerator to preserve donated flowers. The purchase of t-shirt making materials allowed students to start designing and creating t-shirts. When students are given an opportunity to try new things in a supported environment, they rise to the occasion and are able to do things they never thought they could! AHEF donors make these grants happen!

On her 7 visits to schools yesterday, AHEF Executive Director Tess DeGeest met former AHEF Board Member Shawna Feist, who teaches 3rd grade at Mississippi Elementary. She stopped in at the River Trail Learning Center and finally, visited the teachers at Champlin-Brooklyn Park Academy for Math and Environmental Science.
