⭐ Meet Kym, CMA (AAMA)!⭐

Kym graduated from Anoka Technical College in 1998 and spent 25 years serving patients at M Health Fairview. Today, she’s enjoying retirement in sunny Florida with her husband.

❤️ What inspired her career?
Kym had open‑heart surgery at ages 3 and 16. The compassionate care she received inspired her to give back through the medical field.

🎓 Why Anoka Tech?
“It was close to home, and I could start the classes I needed right away. The Medical Assistant program was the perfect fit.”

💼 What she loved most:
Helping people of all ages, learning new procedures, and exploring specialties like orthopedics, cardiology, OB/GYN, family practice, and pediatrics.

Medical Assistant Students learned how to apply casts this morning and had to navigate a work day with the cast on all day. No one left with a cast on; students also learned how to remove a cast successfully!

A fun day of learning.

Two of our students attended the Minnesota Society of Medical Assistants conference this past weekend and had a lot of fun learning and meeting other Certified Medical Assistants.

The Medical Assistant Club fees paid for two students to attend a whole weekend of learning, networking, and fun!

When the study room becomes a great hang out space to meet with friends!

These students decided to work together to get their sterilization videos completed. I wonder how many times the word contamination was used this afternoon?

Half way through week 2 in the Medical Assistant Program!

Last week, we learned how to properly wash our hands. This week, students came in at the beginning of their "shift" and washed their hands. We found out that just a little friction does not work.

Students also learned on how to communicate and room a patient this week! We may had some fun with this too!

First day jitters........ mean something new and exciting is about to begin!
