Human reason always constructs a “theology of glory” – a religion of fairness, earning, and merit. We think we can buy God off or understand His hidden will. God commands us to turn away from our own spiritual metrics. His ways are “higher” because His grace is completely illogical to the fallen mind: He justifies the ungodly for free.
