When I heard from Bill Cox today that our AHS classmate (Dr.) H B Thompson had died, he and I searched for an Obituary. We did not find it right away. It occurred to me that there might not be anyone living who would write an Obit for our old friend. Later an Obit appeared and it was very brief as you can see. I knew H B fairly well back in high school. Many of us knew him by his accomplishments and leadership. I didn’t know him well in his adult life. H B attended the University of Virginia and then the University of Alabama Medical School and became an MD. He had a medical practice all his life in Gadsden, AL. He was married ( I never knew his wife). He attended to her for much of her adult life when she became ill with Multiple Sclerosis and required care. They had one daughter who resided in the UK and died there many years ago. Jackie and I invited H B to join us when we had a weekend gathering of AHS “61 classmates at our north GA home several years ago. Other than that we had no contact with him after high school. H B excelled at AHS, was quarterback on the football team and was elected “King” his senior year. He was clearly highly regarded in the high school years by fellow students and faculty. R.I.P, old friend.

Our dear old friend Jerry Woodruff, classmate of class of '62, passed away this morning after months of distress. Wife and also classmate, Charlotte Murray Woodruff, has been at his side in support for many months. God bless her and give her strength as she moves through this difficult time.

For my AHS friends...I was told today that our friend and classmate, Joe Stanfield died on Feb 8. R.I.P, Joe, and regards and sympathies to wife Nancy, also our classmate.

I got a notification from FB saying that they are going to remove the AHS FB page due to some violations. I doubted it was valid so I sent them 827 photos and told them to tell me how many traffic lights are in the photos. Waiting for their answer.
