J. Cody Hunt is an actor, teaching artist, and fight director with an MFA in Acting from Northern Illinois University, a BA in Theatre from Jacksonville State University and a passion for helping performers grow in confidence, technique, and storytelling.

With professional experience in acting, audition preparation, and stage combat, Cody brings a supportive, personalized approach to private coaching and classes for actors of all ages and experience levels.

His recent performance credits include productions at Red Mountain Theatre, Homewood Theatre, Birmingham Children’s Theatre, Oak Park Festival Theatre, and Sight & Sound Theatres playing roles from Macbeth to Jesus to Father Christmas.

Whether you are looking to book professional theatre or film work, land a role in your community's local production, audition for colleges, or build foundational acting skills, Cody’s lessons focus on helping each student connect authentically, take creative risks, and shine both onstage and in the audition room.

What is an IMPROV CLASS?

An improv class is a supportive workshop where people learn to create characters, scenes, and stories on the spot without a script. It relies on group games and exercises to practice quick thinking, active listening, and teamwork.
