Bobby Joe Mitchell, son of the late Joe Everett and Ollie Geneva Allen Mitchell, was born December 23, 1942 in Wolf Island, Missouri, and departed this life on December 29, 2020 at Wi******er Place in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 78.
He worked for 7 and a half years at Anchor Toy in Sikeston where he held many jobs and for 22 years at Brown Shoe Company as a utility worker until they closed. Bobby also ran the Varnish Room and worked in the Coil Pup Department at Jakel MFG. in East Prairie. When he was in good health, he attended Elm Street Baptist Church in Charleston.
Bobby is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Jimmy Blumenberg of East Prairie; and by one sister-in-law, Pam Mitchell of East Prairie.
Bobby is also survived by his nieces and nephews, his great nieces/nephews, and his great-great nieces/nephews, whom held a special place in his heart; Leslie Blumenberg Archie (Jon) and their children, Skyler, Finley (Cassie), Faith, and Slade, and their grandchildren, Hunter, Brodey, and Farren; Matt Blumenberg (Carol Beth) and their sons, Colton and Deacon, and their granddaughter, Ivee Mae; Mandy Blumenberg Dean (Beachie) and their children, Elijah, Mason, and Hope; and Jeremy Mitchell (Leah) and their daughters, Clara and Nora.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one brother, Randy Mitchell.
A private family graveside service is being planned.
