It is completely free to participate. What classes will be offered? Job skills and life skills classes are taught by members of the community and include work ethic, how to fill out a job application, money management, parenting, healthy relationships, conflict resolution, women’s health, etiquette, purity, dressing for achievement, and interviewing. Participants also go on a field trip to the Che
aha Career Center on the Ayers Campus of Gadsden State Community College. GED prep classes and computer skills are also part of CWJC’s curriculum. What is the schedule for classes? Two semesters are offered yearly: fall (September-December) and spring (January-April). Ten weeks of classes are given per semester. A completion celebration is given at the end of each semester. Participants may enroll during the semester and finish the following semester. Life skills and job skills classes and Bible study are given on Tuesdays (9 A.M.-2 P.M.). GED tutoring is given on Thursdays (8:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M.). Computer classes are given on select Saturdays during each semester (9 A.M.-12P.M.). What are the goals for a CWJC participant?
1. Begin and/or grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. Complete job-readiness and life-skills program(s).
3. Attain self-sufficiency.
4. Give back to the CWJC program. What makes CWJC different from other job-readiness programs? Each participant is involved in Bible study. Participants are also matched with a trained Christian woman who will be a mentor as the participant travels the road from dependency to self-sufficiency. What are the eligibility requirements? CCWJC is open to any woman who is at least 19 years old and is drug and alcohol free. How do I enroll? Where is CCWJC located? CCWJC is located in the Calhoun Baptist Association building at the corner of Woodstock Ave. and 12th St. in Anniston, AL, across from Anniston High School.
