Our hearts (and our bellies! ๐โค๏ธ) are FULL tonight!
A HUGE thank you to First Baptist of White Plains for providing dinner for every single one of our staff members AND every member of their families at home tonight! What an incredible blessing!
The first day of school is always exciting, wonderful, a little chaotic, and absolutely EXHAUSTING. And if you know, you knowโฆ thereโs no tired quite like first-day-of-school educator tired! ๐ด๐
Being able to head home tonight knowing that no one had to worry about cooking dinner was such a gift. Even more special was knowing that our staff membersโ families were being taken care of, too.
Thank you, First Baptist of White Plains, for loving on our school family in such a thoughtful and generous way. You made a wonderful but very long day end on the sweetest note. We are so incredibly grateful! โค๏ธ๐ฝ๏ธ

Our hallways got a major upgrade, and we couldnโt be more excited! ๐๐ค
These new graphics are bringing our walls to life with messages of integrity, excellence, attitude, and Plains pride. From our Four Houses display to our welcome mural, every piece helps tell the story of who we are and what we value.
A huge thank you to County Commissioner Danny Shears for investing in our students and to Freestyle Graphix for helping make this vision a reality. Their support has transformed plain walls into spaces that inspire every student who walks our halls.
The best part? Hearing the reactions from our students during Orientation Night. Their excitement, smiles, and chatter about the new artwork made every bit of this project worthwhile. Thatโs exactly the kind of school pride we hoped to create!
Thank you, Mr Danny Shears, for believing in our schools and our kids.

As we prepare to welcome our kiddos tomorrow, our hearts are full of gratitude.
This week, Coach โPopsโ OโConnor shared a message that couldnโt have come at a better time: Be a balcony person, not a basement person.
Balcony people encourage, believe in others, and build others up. Basement people criticize, discourage, and tear others down. As we begin a new school year, our commitment is to be a school filled with balcony people...for our students, our families, and one another.
We are especially grateful to Coach Pops and his precious wife, Kim OโConnor, for the incredible gift they gave every member of our staff.
They lovingly prepared prayer boxes filled with snacks, helpful items for the first day of school, and prayer request cards so that any staff member can share a prayer need at any time throughout the year.
But the most meaningful part wasnโt what was inside the boxes.
The most meaningful gift was knowing that Pops and Ms Kim prayed over every single box and our staff as they prepared them. What a beautiful reminder that we donโt begin this school year alone.
As we open our doors tomorrow, our goal is every student who walks through our doors returns home safe, happy, and loved. That our teachers and staff know they are appreciated and supported. That our families experience kindness. And that every student, even the one who may not always show it, knows someone believes in them!
Hereโs to a wonderful school year. We canโt wait to welcome our students back!

Weโre excited to kick off another amazing school year! To help make Orientation run as smoothly as possible, we encourage families that are able to pay student fees online before attending to do so as cell phone connection is very spotty in the building and will slow you down if paying digitally. You may still bring check or cash though to orientation.
๐ Orientation Times
๐ 5th Grade: TONIGHT at 5:00pm!
๐ 6th-8th Grades: TOMORROW NIGHT--Tuesday, Aug 4 at 5:00 PM
2026-2027 Student Fees
๐ป Chromebook Fee โ $40 (only if you plan on your child bringing it home)
๐ Classroom Donation โ $15
๐ House System Donation- amount of your choice-INSTEAD of the $15 locker fee this year
๐ Library Donation โ $5
Why a House System Donation?
Instead of charging a traditional locker fee this year (as we were able to get them serviced this summer and they're in great shape at this time) weโre investing in something that impacts every student. Our House System creates a true sense of belonging by connecting students across grade levels, building positive relationships, encouraging leadership, celebrating kindness, and creating unforgettable schoolwide and grade-level competitions, challenges, celebrations, and even individual student rewards. It has become one of the most meaningful parts of the WPMS experience for both students and staff!
We appreciate your support and canโt wait to welcome everyone back for another incredible year at White Plains Middle School! ๐๐พ
