USNA Music Department The Musical Activities Department is the primary source of Fine Arts education for the USNA Brigade.

The Musical Activities Department is the primary source of Fine Arts education for the Brigade of Midshipmen. Throughout the Academy's 175 year history, Musical Activities have played a crucial role in the lives and development of midshipmen who have found academic enrichment, leadership opportunities, inspiration, and camaraderie in its varied offerings. In a single year, Music Department ensembles will perform for the Brigade and thousands of concert attendees at home, throughout the nation, and around the world. An estimated 150,000 people will attend a live performance by our midshipmen each year -- and millions will watch on television. It is with honor, pride and distinction that the Musical Activities Department represents the United States, the United States Navy and Marine Corps, and the United States Naval Academy.

🥁🇺🇸 A NEW CHAPTER IN NAVAL ACADEMY HISTORY! 🇺🇸🥁

Bringing back the traditional sound of military drumming!

The United States Naval Academy Drum & Bugle Corps is incredibly proud to debut our brand new rope drums!

These drums are more than just instruments. They represent the rich history, heritage, and military traditions that have shaped the United States Navy and Naval Academy for 250 years.

As we honor our past, we are excited to return to our roots, bringing the unmistakable sound of traditional military drumming back to the Yard!

We can't wait for you to see AND hear these incredible instruments for the first time at this Friday's parade!

This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our Corps, and we are proud to bring you along on this journey as we honor the traditions of those who came before us.

250 years of tradition. A new generation of sound.
