๐Ÿ”ข There are 72 million adults in the U.S. who have numeracy skills at or below the lowest level.

Like literacy, basic numeracy equips adults to succeed in the workforce and manage daily tasks such as budgeting, shopping, and paying bills. It is critical to an adultโ€™s ability to independently manage their daily life.

Adult education programs are proven to help adults make meaningful gains to confidently participate in society. Learn more: https://hubs.la/Q04z10y60

๐Ÿ’™ **One adult learner's success can change more than one life.**

An adult earns a high school credential. A parent becomes more confident communicating in English. A worker takes the next step toward a new career.

Different journeys. New opportunities. A ripple effect that reaches far beyond the classroom.

๐Ÿ“ˆ **That's why adult education is an economic catalyst!**

When adults have greater opportunities to learn, earn, and advance, the benefits extend to their families, local businesses, and entire communities.

**Adult education doesn't just open doors for individuals. It helps build a stronger workforce, stronger families, and a stronger economy for everyone.**

๐Ÿ’ฌ Adult educators, you see this impact every day! What's one way adult education has made a difference in your community?

**Lead. Equip. Empower.**

โš•๏ธ For people with low literacy, the health care system can be overwhelming. They may not take advantage of regular screenings, vaccinations, or fully understand the value of preventative health measures.

๐Ÿ’Š As a result, it is estimated that those with low health literacy spend $3,362/year on prescriptions compared to $910/year for those with above basic health literacy skills.
