FALKEN has made it to San Francisco!!!
As we had our last glums and glows last night, I admitted to the ladies on board that I was hesitant about the idea of all female trips. Only because I don’t want to be identified as a *female* sailor, just simply a sailor.
That said, I’m happy to now admit I can see why having these trips as a choice can be a really beneficial thing. This may have been one of my most rewarding trips with 59N, the confidence that has grown amongst these women is crazy. They are so much more competent than they thought and it was not an easy trip- it went something a little like this; fog, fog, fog, gross sea state, gung-ho fishing boats, little wind, no wind, all the wind, sunshine!, fog, fog, fog, golden gate! And throw in a sprinkle of whale dodging to top it off.
I actually hate sailing down this section of the coast, but what a bloody lovely bunch of women to do my last trip with 🫶
