Joy-fueled programming that builds confidence and gets people outside their comfort zones — including The BOOM Lab!, our sports experience for girls.

This is the definition of bravery we use in our work - now 20,000+ people over 500+ sessions since 2016.

💥

Fear is personal, so bravery is, too. ANY time you are scared (big scared or just a little scared) and you MOVE THROUGH YOUR FEAR, you are being brave.

So awesome, right?

I played at Princeton. Won a World Championship. Got inducted into the USA Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

I spent 15 years running a national club for girls from non-traditional backgrounds because I wanted lacrosse to reach kids who wouldn't otherwise get a shot at it.

I've spent the last 10 years expanding beyond my sport with Brave Enterprises, working to activate bravery in kids, teachers, coaches, professionals, and athletes of all ages ranging from youth to the NFL.

It's time to combine my expertise in an event that addresses what is missing for kids in sports right now: An immersive opportunity to focus on improvement.

This means
💥 Fear literacy
💥 A pro-risk environment
💥 Mental performance reps
💥 Executive functioning training
💥 Athlete assessments
💥 Nutrition basics
💥 Coaches who want for you what YOU want for you
💥 Lively competition

The BOOM Lab! is like no other camp. It's an chance for girls to chase their potential with other brave humans doing the same thing.

Introducing The BOOM Lab!

Photos from Brave Enterprises's post 12/19/2025

We’re excited to announce our newest lacrosse partnership with — joining as part of Brave’s growing work in the girls’ lacrosse community.

💥 🥍

Together, we’re bringing to athletes immersive programming that builds confidence, mental readiness, resilience, and connection — on the field and in life.

According to CCLax co-founder, Cathy Samaras, “The world of club sports is taking a toll on kids’ mental health. Our partnership with Brave underscores the criticality of securing expert insight and experiential programming for our members that is relevant to the lives they are living.”

Lots more to come.

and are joining forces to create the conditions for members to thrive in their game, their life, and their own minds.

💥 🥍

Imagine an environment and an ethos that helps players
☑️ warm-up their muscles AND their emotions
☑️ feel joy while managing pressure
☑️ practice self-talk based in honesty
☑️ develop risk-taking capacity rooted in self-efficacy
☑️ chase THEIR goals with an underdog mindset

Together, we’re blending science and sport to strengthen how kids get pumped, get better, get joy.

Let’s GO!

What are people scared of?

Our programming is meant to help people get reps in the face of their actual fears. So, we have to know what really scares people in order to create programming that provides the opportunity for relevant/high-value practice.

Valuable practice leads to self-efficacy, knowing you can do the thing you’ve practiced doing.

In the case of our work with people, face fears they actually have in the lives they are actually living.

We know a lot about what people are scared of and how those fears have been changing since 2020.

What has remained true is that the #1 BIGGEST FEAR among people 15 years and older is FAILURE.

While “loss of a loved one” (parent, sibling, child) is on the rise, particularly among women, they are still far behind fear of failure or fears in the “neighborhood of failure” (disappointing self/others, not living up to expectation of self/others).

For sophomores, this is how the FEAR PROFILE of girls differs from boys.

In our seventh year of partnership, we continue to work with BMHS students to practice - all day! - in their real fear so they can build real bravery and use it in their real lives.

9 year-old girls are legit.

They are honest.
They run wild.
They are bold.
They are vulnerable.
They get it.

And, what happens to us after 9 years?

When I was coaching hundreds of middle school turned high school girls, I started to see a shift …

Some parts got smaller, like their belief in self and willingness to go hard after big goals.
Some parts got bigger, like the fear plaque building over their esteem, self-worth and will.

I started to figure out if there was a way to disrupt this phenomenon.

We look at confidence (self-belief) and bravery (movement in fear) in all people from 8-80. Our programming is designed to prevent (8-12 years), intervene (13-22 years), and rehabilitate (23+) fear-based living by giving folks a way to activate their bravery.

It’s always amazing to do prevention work with kids who are unleashed and wholly expressive. Thank you so much to the of Westminster, MD for the experience with this awesome troop.

AGENCY.

It’s how we start our Brave practice because it is fundamental to building mental and emotional strength.

Agency - the ability to contribute/influence to outcomes that affect you - demands intention and responsibility, two more ingredients of mental fortitude.

Thanks to for an incredible Brave practice - we will see you on the field again soon!
