Candidate Visit Weekend (CVW) gives prospective candidates an inside look at life as a Midshipman—living in Bancroft Hall, attending classes, and experiencing the Yard firsthand. This Fall, our team had the chance to meet future leaders and hand out several Letters of Assurance.

This week, high school counselors, educators, and community influencers visited the Naval Academy as part of the Centers of Influence (COI) program. This program offers participants a firsthand look at the Naval Academy experience and admissions process, equipping them to better guide and mentor students interested in applying to USNA. During their visit, they toured Yard Patrol craft, the Naval Academy Museum, and the Midshipmen Store.

We asked some of our Blue and Gold Officers (BGOs) to share one piece of advice for future applicants and here’s the result! 🌟⚓️

BGOs are dedicated volunteers who serve as valuable resources for prospective candidates. Assigned to schools across the country and U.S. Territories, they assist students throughout the application process.

If you’d like to connect with the BGO who supports your school, please reach out to your BGO Area Coordinator. A full list of Area Coordinators and their contact information is available on the USNA Admissions website under the “APPLY” tab.
