Annapolis School of Seamanship is proud to introduce the ASOS Junior Captains Course, a new program for young powerboaters. This 5 day long, on the water program, is designed for children in grade 6 through 9 and will operate from June through August. Students may choose between half day morning or afternoon sessions. All instructors are USCG Licensed Captains and the course will cover boating ski

lls such as:
- Safety
- Boat handling
- Man Over Board
- Docking
- Fueling
- Navigation
- Water Sports basics
- Tubing safety
- Line handling
- Knots
- Weather Awareness
- Boating Apps
Students will learn and practice these skills through on the water training with a minimum of classroom reinforcement. At the end of the week, students will have experience operating small, single outboard deep v hull powerboats. Upon course completion students will obtain their Maryland Safe Boating certificate, which meets all mandatory education requirements in 49 U.S.
