Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.- Delta Pi Omega Chapter This site provides information about our community based programming and events that are designed to serve the needs of the Annapolis community.

In 1947, five courageous women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® made the request to establish a chapter of the sorority in Annapolis, Maryland. Those five women were Mamie Holley, Bernice Johnson, Sylvia McMillian, Virginia Richardson and Henrietta Thompson. With the support of Sophie Fowler, 14th North Atlantic Regional Director, Delta Pi Omega Chapter was chartered on October 25, 194

7. The first women to be initiated into Delta Pi Omega Chapter were Louise Burton, Lulu Hardesty, Alis Harris, Betsy Johnson, Emily Johnson, Helene McRae and Amanda Nunley. The five original members, along with the seven initiated members became the Charter Members of Delta Pi Omega Chapter including:

We’re taking a little trip down memory lane to our last Pearls in the Vineyard, an afternoon filled with great music, good food, laughter, fellowship and unforgettable moments at DeJon Vineyards.

Last weekend, members of Delta Pi Omega proudly participated in the Annapolis Juneteenth Parade & Festival, joining the community in celebrating freedom, honoring our heritage, and embracing the spirit of unity.

Together, we celebrated a day of remembrance, reflection, and joy while honoring the generations whose courage and perseverance continue to inspire us as we work toward a more just and equitable future.
