What a way to cap the summer!

The AYC Opti Race Team wrapped up the season with an incredible showing at the USODA New England Championship, with six AYC sailors finishing in the overall top 10 of a 154-boat fleet.

🥈 Wyatt Tyson — 2nd overall
🥉 Brooks Crawford — 3rd overall
⭐️ Arthur Haneberg — Top 10
⭐️ Archie Dove — Top 10
⭐️ Liam Donaldson — Top 10
⭐️ James Hillyer — Top 10

AYC also brought home fleet podium finishes, with Ford Daigle taking 3rd and Ezekiel Beauchamp 4th in the U11 White Fleet, TTQ'd for 2027!

Hosted by Sail Newport over three days, the championship brought a little bit of everything in the way of conditions. PRO Kevin Reeds kept the racing moving, completing eight races for each of the three fleets in the round-robin format.

Congratulations to Fishing Bay’s Henry Latell on taking the championship by just one point over Wyatt Tyson, and to all of our AYC sailors on an outstanding finish to the summer.

Salute to Summer 2026 🫡☀️⛵️

Last week, we gathered in the Skipjack to celebrate the memories and achievements of the past season. 26 coaches, 445 junior sailors, and 76 race team sailors throughout the 8 weeks of fun on the water 🌊

As summer winds down, we broaden our focus from intense training with our young sailor, to making memories on the water. Our most advanced Opti team, Opti HP ⚡️, got a chance to sail Coach Arthur’s J70 in great breeze this week before Oxford Regatta and Opti New England Championship.

Cheers to the 2026 Opti Mom Regatta! 💐

We had a record turnout and great breeze for our race team moms who make it all happen year-round for our junior sailors who became coaches for the night! 15 brave moms sailed 4 races in the St. Mary's mooring field with a beautiful sunset backdrop.

Congrats to Maura Winston (1st), Colleen Watson (2nd), and Sam Tyson (3rd) - you all made your children very proud!

Looking forward to next year!

Happy 4th of July from our AYC Junior Sailing Family!

We celebrate the 250 years of United States in the best way we know how: with great racing and camaraderie for Annapolis Junior Race Week 🎉

Thanks to all involved in bringing together nearly 200 young sailors for the AYC Junior Annual Regatta last Tuesday, June 30th. Congratulations to our trophy winners and our American Magic (presented by Terry Hutchinson), Quantum Sails and North Sails giveaway winners! We couldn't do it without our AYC village!

The AYC Snipe Program started in late 2024 as a passion project between AYC Junior Sailing and key donor Andrew Skibo who wanted to provide an enhanced pathway to more technical boats and lifelong competition in the sport of sailing.

Today, AYC has a fleet of 4 Snipes dedicated to our juniors, who have benefitted tremendously from cross-training & exposure to the experts in the Snipe Fleet, including Coach Arthur Blodgett.

All 4 boats were sailed in the Colonial Cup and Snipe Nationals in early June in Annapolis, with breakout performances from pairs Trey Waters/Charlotte Stites (scores include 2nd and 3rd place finishes) and Grace Crespin/Eleanora Lawrence (winning Top Women's Team).

During this "Snipe Week", AYC Race Team sailors and other local juniors got to hear from famous sailors in town for the regattas - Olympian Lara Dallman-Weiss and Justin Callahan, College Sailor of the Year/Rolex Yachtsman of the Year Nominee.

Thanks to our supporters who continue to provide emerging opportunities for local youth in sailing! Especially Arthur Blodgett for organizing youth teams and chairing the Colonial Cup regatta, and ultimately winning the event.
Thanks to the Snipe Fleet for welcoming our juniors and helping them reach the next level.👏

Qualified for Nationals ✅ Congrats to Key School Varsity sailors for clinching a berth to Mallory Fleet Race Nationals after an epic performance @ the MASSA Gold qualifier last weekend!

Now it's time to train hard and push through the final weeks of practice before Nationals on Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans! Good luck 🔥👏
