So delighted to report yesterday’s celebration of Seichou Karate Dojo and its students was a huge success! For two hours, students 6 years and older punched, kicked, blocked, performed katas, and free fought. In sum, it was a blast! Thereafter, we enjoyed lovely spring fare, including deli sandwiches, fried chicken, fresh fruit, and ice-cold barley tea, courtesy of the Bharat family. What’s more, we were joined by Shihan Romero’s 98-year-old mom, Arline Ostolaza, who 55 years ago, enrolled him at the White Plains School of Self-defense where he came under the tutelage of renowned karate master Shigeru Oyama. Mom chose well, and our dojo has grown from the seeds she planted so many years ago. Many thanks to Mom, our superb black belt leaders and our wonderful students. OSU!
